Oh hello. I totally told myself last January that I would start a blog…but I didn’t keep it up. Well you can read my first post if you want to know why I started to Blog… š
I’m not quite sure how to start this…
“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.” ā Exodus 14:14 Hey Everyone- Welcome to my blog. I am starting this on a whim because I need something in my life to express my thoughts and to share what is going on in my life. Sort of a New Year’sā¦
Well I am going to challenge myself this year during Lent to pray and reflect on myself and my relationship with Christ. Part of that challenge is to post weekly a reflection each week of lent until Easter. Today is Ash Wednesday and in Texas we are currently under siege by Queen Elsa of Arendelle. Somebody might have just made her angry again. (We are currently experiencing record low temperatures and I have been not been in school for the past week).
As I sit here (freezing) I begin to reflect to myself at the piano. I enjoy just reading music on the piano and many times it is music we have played at Mass. I began just playing and reflecting and I came upon this song by Dan Schutte, “These Alone are Enough”. This song is based on a prayer written by St. Ignatius of Loyola called the “Suscipe Prayer”. It goes like this…
Take Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all that I have and possess. Thou hast given all to me. To Thee, O lord, I return it. All is Thine, dispose of it wholly according to Thy will. Give me Thy love and thy grace, for this is sufficient for me.
Suscipe Prayer- St Ignatius of Loyola
This is also known as the Prayer of Surrender. As we go forth into the Lenten season, I am just reminded about how I need to surrender myself to the Lord in order to grow closer to him. This lenten season, I surrender to you. Your love and grace is sufficient for me. It is enough. You are enough.
